I suspect that you would say for every other religion that denies having contradictions and inconsistencies and are older than Islam that those people are deceived or indoctrinated. Occam's razor would suggest that we see people all the time who are convinced of a plethora of things for bad reasons and are able to explain away data that counters their belief with all kinds of mental gymnastics. The fact that the followers of Islam have not accepted the criticisms of their holy book, which have been there from its inception, does not mean that they are not valid criticisms.

I had heard all the accolades for Murakami and was looking forward to a good read but not no but this disappointed me. Thankfully got it at the thrift store and it is going back. I am predominately mixed on Christopher Hitchens. On the one hand, I admire a lot of his literary criticism and I think he's a great writer on his own merit. I generally don't like his anti-religion work, as ironically he writes with the same fundamentalism and arrogance that he seems to so despise. He's one of those guys who cries 'oh religion starts all these wars, causes all these deaths' you know, except for all the other ones that aren't caused by which God you believe in, which is about 85 percent of them. This isn't just me being butthurt by this book, I've met atheists and secularists who've rolled their eyes at this argument. In many ways, Hitchens is a provocateur, he wants to get under your skin and piss you off, because he thinks (or thought) that's how you get people to think. But I don't think that's going to get people to think, it just gets them pissed off and not wanting to read the book he wants them to read. I could go on, but I think my point here is made. Generally I agree with most of your points, though I do think you could have given some more explanation, gone into more detail on why you don't like this book. But overall, I thought it was a solid video. Also thanks for the sub on my channel.

I think in islam, well, we have even been encouraged to question things (to get/seek the answer). But no room for doubting in islam. I think, those two are different. I hope you can understand the different between those two tho. Again, i think the example is, when the angel asked: why would you put another being that can destroy earth? That is questioning. Meanwhile, the devil was doubting when allah asked him to bow down to human.
